Wear and share to help kids in hospital

Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba celebrates #ChildrensHospitalsWeek and encourages support for HSC Children’s Hospital April 8-11, 2024

Winnipeg, Manitoba (April 8, 2024) – Show you care for kids in our community by joining Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba, and children’s hospitals across North America, in celebrating #ChildrensHospitalWeek 2024 from April 8 to 11!

Anyone can get involved to show support for Manitoba’s only Children’s Hospital by participating in this awareness week. Let’s make anything possible for kids who need care.

In Manitoba, the following activities encourage support for the children’s hospital and pediatric health research:

• Wear and Share a bandage photo. Show your support for the Children’s Hospital and Children’s Hospital Research teams, and the kids who need the hospital by wearing a bandage with a child’s name or children’s hospital department written on it, taking a photo, and posting on social media with #ChildrensHospitalsWeek @CHFManitoba #ContinueCaringForKids

• Start a fundraiser. Help raise critical funds to support children who need specialized health care. Visit goodbear.ca/fundraise to get started!

• Donate this week. Donations help #GiveBetterFutures and will go towards life-saving equipment, ground-breaking research for improvements in care and innovative programs that bring comfort to children and their families during difficult times in hospital. Support will help kids like 2024 Champion Child, Janessa Dumas Colomb, who represents the 140,000 kids who need Manitoba’s children’s hospital each year. At age five, doctors found Janessa’s kidneys weren’t functioning properly and at age 12 she needed a transplant. Now Janessa is thriving, doing the things she loves like dancing and fishing. She will continue to work with specialists in Winnipeg as she grows.
