About the Foundation
Children’s Miracle Network
Since 1986, the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba has been a proud member of Children’s Miracle Network. Through Children’s Miracle Network’s corporate partners, their associates, and customers, funds are raised for more than 170 children’s hospitals, including 14 across Canada, often $1 at a time. Donations stay local to support research, training, purchasing lifesaving equipment, and supporting programs that bring comfort to sick children and their families.
All money raised in Manitoba stays in Manitoba.

Miracles happen every May during Walmart’s Miracle Month, when associates collect donations at cash registers, asking customers to join them in supporting sick and injured kids in Manitoba. For over 30 years, Walmart staff have also hosted internal fundraising events, like bear sales, walks, popcorn sales, and more. Walmart Canada is also the sponsor of the Champions program, which brings together kids from across Canada’s 12 children’s hospital foundations to celebrate their success and their families. Fundraising is sweet all year-long at Dairy Queen, but the most popular day is Miracle Treat Day, where franchisees donate 100% of the proceeds from every Blizzard sold in Manitoba to the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba. Dairy Queen also fundraises year-round by selling Miracle Balloon icons, collecting donations in their kid-friendly coin canisters, and other grassroots fundraising activities locally.
As a valued partner of the Children’s Miracle Network for over 23 years, TD employees and customers have come together to raise more than $86 million for 14 children’s hospitals across Canada, giving thousands of children dignity in care and a future to be shared with their loved ones. In 2017, TD Bank Group raised over $6.2 million and registered over 4,700 new, automatic monthly donors, personally touching the lives of more than 5,000 children, who walk through the doors of our hospitals every day. Every year, TD matches customer and employee donations across Canada, up to $1 million annually.
Have you seen the Miracle Home sign? RE/MAX Miracle Agents donate a portion of each sale through the RE/MAX Miracle Home Program. Offices across the province also hold other fundraising events like golf tournaments, BBQs, and internal office fundraisers. Costco’s signature fundraiser, the Miracle Balloon Campaign, runs through the month of May at all three locations in Winnipeg. To energize and support the campaign, Costco also invests significantly in a corporate match program. Costco warehouses from coast-to-coast, along with their associates and members, truly do make miracles happen!
The Air Canada Foundation provides grants for much needed specialized equipment as well as donates hundreds of airline seats every year for families and kids across Canada, by donating over 20 million Aeroplan Miles to the Hospital Transportation Program. This program helps families who need to travel from their communities for medical care or treatment. The Brick is one of Children’s Miracle Network’s fastest-growing partners. The Brick’s campaign includes various fundraising activities, the sale of plush Brickley Bears, icons, and a corporate match program.
