Ice Crystal Gala returns November 5

Sweet family adventure to raise critical funds for families in hospital

Winnipeg, MB (October 6, 2022) – Manitoba families are going on an adventure to Candy Castle to raise funds for the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba. Ice Crystal Gala will return as an in-person event with a sweet, candy theme on Saturday, November 5 at the RBC Convention Centre.

This important fundraising event has been held virtually for two years due to the pandemic. In previous years, the in-person gala has raised over $450,000 annually for sick and injured kids. The virtual gala events in 2020 and 2021 raised more than $250,000 each.

Guests at the 2022 Ice Crystal Gala will enjoy exciting entertainment, fantastic auction prizes, a delicious meal, a dance party and sweet activities for kids and teens like a cupcake decorating station thanks to Jenna Rae Cakes.

“We’re so excited to host this fun, family fundraiser in person again and there is so much to look forward to at the event,” says Alanna Babakhanians, Ice Crystal Gala committee chair. “As a mom of three children, I know how important our children’s hospital is and we’re just so grateful for the support of the community as we work to help sick and injured kids and their families.”

Funds raised at Ice Crystal Gala will go towards the Foundation’s $75 million Better Futures campaign to transform child health care and research in Manitoba. The Fund the Need portion of the event will go towards the Children’s Hospital Emergency Department, to improve the experience of the 50,000 kids and families who need emergency at HSC Children’s each year.

This sweet family adventure to support families in hospital is possible thanks to amazing volunteers and sponsors.

“We’re so grateful to all the folks who are part of making Ice Crystal Gala a success, from the committee, to volunteers, sponsors, donors and supporters,” says Stefano Grande, President and CEO of the Children’s Hospital Foundation. “Ice Crystal Gala brings in vital funds to transform care for sick and injured kids and we’re looking forward to another fantastic year.”

The Foundation is deeply grateful for the generosity of all the event’s sponsors including Candy Castle Kings and Queens – Stage Sponsor: Industrial Metals; Peppermint Partners – Dinner Sponsor: Caspian Group of Companies; Lollipop Land – Children’s World Sponsor: Urbanmine; Licorice Lords and Ladies – Speaker Sponsor: CP Rail; Sugarplum Stars – Entertainment Sponsor: The North West Company.
