A Manitoba company is marking a meaningful milestone in its mission to help kids in hospital. Access Credit Union has donated more than a quarter of a million dollars, $267,803, in just two years.
“We love to give to the local community, and we love to find a cause that all of our members can connect with,” says Larry Davey President & CEO, Access Credit Union. “Whether it’s your own child, a family member, or a friend with a child – everyone knows someone who has needed the Children’s Hospital. We see supporting this cause as a great fit with the values of our members and employees.”
A large portion of this generous donation from Access Credit Union was raised through a charity golf tournament they host annually. In 2022 and 2023, Access hosted simultaneous fundraising tournaments, one in Morden, MB one just outside Winnipeg, in Starbuck, MB. The events were planned entirely by an Access volunteer committee and were fun-filled days of golfing to #GiveBetterFutures.
Access also donates a percentage of its gross profit or profits back to a wide variety of organizations across their various communities.
Larry Davey says giving back is part of the Access culture.
“We love the opportunity to not only provide financial support, but also through countless volunteer hours among all our staff.”
Access Credit Union is the largest credit union in Manitoba and the sixth largest in Canada, with 56 branches, more than 203,000 members, 925+ employees and $11.1 billion in balance sheet assets.
Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba is deeply grateful for partnership with community champions like Access.
