Ways to Help
Donate Goods or Services
In order to serve the children in the hospital in the best way possible, we have been provided a list of REQUESTED items from all wards and departments we serve. Choose to make a donation of cash, gift card(s) or in-kind items. Here are some suggestions:
Financial Donations help us purchase the items we do not receive through gift-in-kind donations. You could also direct your financial donation to the Family Comfort Fund.
Or choose a gift from Dr. Goodbear Gifts.
How do I make a toy donation?
Please review Wish List and select the items you would like to give to our patients. Once you have purchased your gifts, please BOOK A DROP OFF APPOINTMENT with our staff by calling 204-787- 4400. For security purposes, a scheduled drop-off must occur.
I want my toy donation to go to a specific ward.
Please contact our staff to discuss the needs of individual wards.
Can I get a tax receipt for my in-kind donation?
Yes. Providing that you supply the Foundation with a receipt upon delivery of the items you can receive a receipt for the value before taxes.
I want to personally delivery toys to kids in the Hospital. May I?
We appreciate your generosity, however, for reasons of patient privacy and health, we cannot accommodate this request.
Can I donate money to buy toys?
Yes. We can accept cash, cheque, or credit card donations designated specifically for toy purchases for the holiday season. Please send cheques to the Foundation at CE501-840 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3A 1S1 ATTENTION: TOY DONATION. Or phone 204-787-4400. Monetary donations are fully tax receiptable.
What about second-hand items? Can I donate those?
We appreciate your thoughtfulness, but we cannot accept second-hand items, even if they are only gently used. However, please consider dropping them off at our Nearly New Store at 961 Portage Avenue for re-sale to support the Foundation. Please call 204-772-3629 for drop-off hours.
Can I deliver baking for the children in the Hospital?
Only commercially made and wrapped candy and treats will be accepted as donations for special occasions (Halloween, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, etc.) No donations of food containing nuts or nut products can be accepted for distribution to the patients, due to allergy risks.
Please note: we do not accept donations of holiday treats after the holiday.
