This Chapter Will Potentially Save A Child’s Life
(WINNIPEG, Manitoba – September 26th, 2018) What do 400 volunteers, books as far as the eye can see, helping sick and injured children and raising over $8 million in 58 years have in common? The September sale of the Children’s Hospital Book Market kicks off tomorrow, Thursday, September 27th at St. Vital Centre. Over 65 categories on fiction, science, children’s and more are available at unbelievable prices.
“Our volunteers work tirelessly knowing that they are making a difference in the lives of sick and injured children,” states Carol Irving, Children’s Hospital Book Market Coordinator. “Support of the Children’s Hospital Book Market allows for programs like the Book Corner, CHTV – the internal Children’s Hospital commercial-free television station – and the Family Resource library to continue for many years to come.”
“Because of the generosity of the Children’s Hospital Book Market, babies and children get to enjoy story times at the hospital with their favourite library books,” states Emma Robin, Children’s Hospital Librarian. “Books help to normalize and distract children during their hospital stay.
