Making Miracles One Home at a Time

Did you know that by buying or selling a home, you can make miracles happen for sick kids? The Miracle Home Program is exclusive to RE/MAX International and last year raised $160,000 for the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba.

“We are honoured to be affiliated with such a tremendous organization and are proud of our 24-year partnership with Children’s Miracle Network,” says Marie Sheppy, Manager, Corporate Affairs, RE/MAX of Western Canada. “There is not an agent within the RE/MAX community that isn’t somehow linked to a children’s hospital whether through their own experience or someone they know. It’s also a cause close to the hearts of RE/MAX clients.”

Over the years, this cherished partnership has delivered significant results.

“RE/MAX has been a loyal and generous partner since the early 1990’s and has raised more than $1.9 million dollars,” says Gary Rozak, Program Director, Children’s Miracle Network. “Their support has touched almost every area of the Children’s Hospital. Donations from RE/MAX have funded Omni Beds for the NICU, specialized surgical equipment and scopes for the Operating Room and equipment for the Children’s Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba.”

RE/MAX offices are incredibly generous within their local communities and go above and beyond, raising funds not only through home sales, but also through golf tournaments, auctions and other fundraising initiatives.

“RE/MAX agents donate funds through the Miracle Home Program – where agents voluntarily devote a portion of their income with each home sale,” says Sheppy. “Linda van den Broek, RE/MAX Executives Realty in Winnipeg, has been the top contributing RE/MAX agent for Western Canada for more than a decade. She is a true ambassador and champion for the cause. I am incredibly proud of the passion and commitment from the Western Canada realtors.”

In fact, the Western Canada realtors have been the top contributing region in the RE/MAX organization for 9 consecutive years, and their dedication has had a direct impact in helping Manitoba’s sick kids feel better.

“Their heart and commitment is truly amazing,” says Rozak. “We would have a tough time providing the funding required for programs, research and equipment at the hospital without the belief and caring of partners like RE/MAX and the incredible agents who simply want to help the thousands of children who come through our doors each year. It’s truly heart-warming and humbling to see their passion and commitment. It’s why they are so special!”

Bear hugs to RE/MAX, and their clients, for making a difference in the lives of sick kids in Manitoba, and across the country.
