Hockey Greats Of Past and Future To Join Golf Tournament
Winnipeg Jets’ Tyler Myers and Hockey Hall of Famer Paul Coffey Fundraising for Kids in Full Swing
The Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba is pleased to welcome Hall of Fame Defenceman Paul Coffey and Winnipeg Jets Defenceman Tyler Myers to the annual Bobby Hull Foundation for Children Golf Tournament in support of the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba. The event takes place Thursday, June 22nd at Glendale Golf & Country Club and will include several past and present hockey players in hopes to raise money for sick and injured children in Manitoba.
“The Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba is very excited to have Paul Coffey and Tyler Myers join our team this year at the annual golf tournament,” states Lawrence Prout, President & CEO, The Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba. “When prominent individuals use their profile to help raise funds for vital hospital programs and equipment, it shows their commitment to giving back to the community by helping sick and injured kids, and we thank Paul and Tyler for that.”
Last year, the tournament netted $130,000 and funds were used to purchase emergency room patient stretchers and vital signs monitors, benefitting the lives of many children.
“We are grateful to have Paul Coffey and Tyler Myers come on board,” states Mark Evans, Chair of the Children’s Hospital Foundation Golf Committee. “Having hockey greats of the past and future show their support in helping us help sick children, ultimately broadens the reach in bringing attention to our cause.”
Paul Coffey is a 4-time Stanley Cup winner with the Edmonton Oilers and Pittsburgh Penguins. Tyler Myers is a defenceman for the Winnipeg Jets.
